Meetings are not the problem. Forgetting them is.
Every team has had the conversation where something was clearly agreed, and three weeks later nobody can say who was supposed to do it. That is the problem Notepik was built for.
Why this exists
A meeting produces two things worth keeping: the decisions, and the commitments. Almost everything else is context you will never need again.
The tools most teams use get this backwards. A recording gives you everything and therefore nothing, because nobody rewatches an hour to find the ninety seconds that mattered. Notes taken by whoever volunteered are patchy and stop the note-taker from participating. Transcripts are searchable but unreadable.
Notepik starts from the output instead. What was decided, who agreed to do what, and by when. The transcript is there underneath when you need to check, and you can jump straight to the moment somebody said it.
What we believe
The notes belong to the team, not the note-taker
Meeting output that lives in one person's document is lost the moment that person leaves or gets busy. Everything Notepik produces goes into a shared workspace with roles, search across every meeting, and comments anchored to the moment being discussed.
Nobody should be recorded without knowing
Our bot is always visible in the participant list, and we do not offer a hidden recording mode. A feature whose only purpose is to stop people noticing they are being recorded is a feature for breaking the law, and several jurisdictions treat it as a criminal matter. We wrote a whole page on doing this properly rather than leaving it in the small print.
Your meetings are not our training data
We do not train models on your content, and our processing providers are contractually barred from doing so. Nobody here reads your transcripts. This is not a premium tier, it is how the product works.
Say what the software actually does
AI transcription mislabels speakers. Summarisation misses things. Action item extraction occasionally invents a deadline nobody agreed to. We say so in the product and in the terms, because a team that trusts the output blindly will eventually be burned by it, and that is worse for them and for us than a moment of honesty up front.
Where we are
Notepik is built and run by Webmatia Ltd, registered in England and Wales and based in London. We are a small team, which is why you get a person when you write to us rather than a ticket number and a satisfaction survey.
Where this is going
The near-term list, in the order we are working on it: single sign-on for teams whose IT department requires it, retention controls so a workspace can set its own deletion schedule, a third-party security audit, and interfaces in French, German and Spanish.
