Notepik vs Circleback

A Circleback alternative with one flat price for the whole workspace

Circleback writes very good meeting notes, and its free plan is generous. It is also priced per user, built around automations, and aimed at people who spend their day in desktop apps. Notepik takes a different route: one price per workspace, a visible bot or a Chrome tab recorder, and a write-up that ends in decisions and owners. Here is the comparison, including the cases where Circleback wins.

Why teams pick Notepik over Circleback

01

Pay for the workspace, not for each person

Circleback's pricing page shows a per-user price for Pro, Business and Enterprise, with volume discounts as seats grow. Business and Enterprise add free viewers, but a viewer can only open the meetings that were shared with them. For a team where everyone both attends and wants the notes, that is a seat each.

Notepik's plans are per workspace. Each one includes a number of seats and a number of meeting hours, and the whole team works from one library. Take the per-user price on Circleback's pricing page, multiply it by the people who record, and compare it with the Notepik plan that covers your hours on our pricing page.

02

Record the browser, not the desktop

Circleback's bot-free option is a desktop app for macOS and Windows. Notepik's is a Chrome extension. If your calls already happen in a browser tab, one click in an extension is lighter than a desktop recorder: it captures the tab's sound and, if you allow it, your microphone, and nothing else.

The trade-off is real. The extension records browser tabs only, never the Zoom, Teams or Webex desktop apps, and it does not capture slides or video. Circleback's desktop app does, and so does its mobile app. Pick on how you actually meet.

03

A write-up that finishes the job

After a call, Notepik gives you a summary in the language of the meeting, the decisions that were made, and action items with a suggested owner and a due date. Ask answers questions across every meeting and cites the moment it was said, and a transcript line is a button that plays the recording from there.

When a meeting belongs to a recurring series, Notepik also shows what the last one left open and emails you that brief before the next call, but only when there is something to say. Follow-up email drafts are written from the summary and never sent for you.

04

A visible bot and a plain consent story

The Notepik bot is always in the participant list under a name you choose. The extension is the quiet option, so it asks you to confirm you will tell the other people before it records, and our consent page explains what to say and when it is required. Circleback offers a personalised notetaker participant on Pro and a bot-free desktop app, so the two tools overlap here. The difference is how plainly the responsibility is spelled out.

05

Three languages in the app itself

Notepik's interface is available in English, French and Arabic, with the Arabic layout mirrored. Circleback transcribes over 100 languages, which is wider than anything Notepik promises. If your team works in French or Arabic and wants the product itself in that language, that is where Notepik is different.

Where Circleback is the better choice

Going by what Circleback's own site says, here is where it is ahead.

A free plan that goes further

Circleback keeps a permanent free tier with AI notes, Ask Circleback, limited automations and 30 days of history, and its homepage says the free plan includes unlimited meetings. Notepik's free plan is much smaller in hours. If you mainly want to try AI notes on a lot of meetings without paying, Circleback goes further.

Compliance and enterprise controls

SOC 2 Type II, EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework certification, a HIPAA BAA, an external penetration test report, and SSO and SCIM on Enterprise. Notepik has none of those yet.

Automations and integrations

Circleback builds workflows across Slack, Notion, Linear, Salesforce, HubSpot, Attio, Asana, Intercom, Ashby and more, and exposes an API, MCP and a CLI. Notepik's CRM sync is HubSpot only, and it has no workflow builder.

Apps, screens and imports

Circleback has desktop and mobile apps, captures slides and documents from saved video, and can import past meetings from Fathom, Fireflies, Granola and Read AI as well as audio and video files. Notepik accepts uploads but has no importers and no screen capture.

What it costs: flat versus per user

Circleback has a permanent Free tier and three paid tiers, Pro, Business and Enterprise, all priced per user per month, with a free trial on the paid ones and monthly or yearly billing. Pro adds unlimited history and longer recording storage, Business adds roles and retention controls, and Enterprise adds SSO and SCIM. The figures are on Circleback's pricing page, and they change, so read them there.

Notepik has a free plan with no card and paid plans priced per workspace. The plans below are pulled live from our pricing. Set the one that fits your hours and seats against Circleback's per-user price multiplied by your team.

Notepik's own limits, stated up front so you can rule it out quickly.

Switching from Circleback

Circleback can import from other tools. Notepik does not import from Circleback, so the move is gentle rather than instant.

  1. 1Leave your existing meetings in Circleback. Nothing needs to be exported for you to start.
  2. 2Create a free Notepik workspace, then send the bot to your next call or press Record in the Chrome extension.
  3. 3Want older recordings in the new library? Download them from Circleback, if your plan stores them, and upload them to Notepik, audio or video up to 2 GB each.
  4. 4Connect your task tools, invite the team, and cancel Circleback when you are ready.

Circleback vs Notepik: questions people ask

Is Notepik a good Circleback alternative?
For teams that want one price for the workspace, a visible bot or a Chrome tab recorder, and write-ups that end in decisions and owners, yes. If you need Circleback's free plan, SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA paperwork, desktop and mobile apps, or Salesforce, Circleback is the better fit, and this page says so.
Is Notepik cheaper than Circleback?
That depends on your headcount. Circleback prices per user per month, and Notepik prices per workspace with a set number of seats and hours. The more people need access to the same notes, the more a flat workspace price helps. Compare the two pricing pages with your own team size.
Does Notepik have a free plan like Circleback?
Yes, with no card and no time limit, but it is smaller than Circleback's. It covers summaries, decisions, action items and search for one person, and its limits are on the pricing page.
Does Notepik record without a bot?
Yes. The Chrome extension records a browser tab with no bot in the call. Circleback's bot-free option is a desktop app instead, so choose by whether your calls run in a browser or in desktop apps.
Which meeting platforms does Notepik support?
The bot joins Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex, and the extension records any call in a Chrome tab. Details for Zoom, Google Meet, Teams and Webex are on their own pages.
Is Notepik SOC 2 or HIPAA compliant?
No. Notepik is encrypted in transit and at rest, isolates each workspace and never trains models on your recordings, but it has no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification and no HIPAA agreement. Read the security page before you decide.
Can I run Notepik and Circleback side by side?
Yes. A free Notepik workspace needs no card, so you can send it to a few calls next to Circleback and compare the write-ups before you commit.

See the write-up on your own next call

Start on the free plan with no card, send the bot to a real meeting or record a browser tab, and read what comes back a few minutes later. If it is not better for your team, you have lost nothing.
