Notepik vs Read AI

A Read AI alternative for teams that want one shared library, not one licence per person

Read AI has grown from a meeting notetaker into a wider assistant that also reads your email and messages. Notepik stays on meetings. It joins your calls or records a browser tab, writes up the decisions and action items, and keeps everything in one workspace your team shares. If that is the job, a narrower tool at one price per workspace is easier to run. Here is the full comparison, including where Read AI is the stronger choice.

Why teams pick Notepik over Read AI

01

One workspace, not a licence per person

Read AI's pricing page is clear about how teams work: licences are individual, every licence in a workspace has to be on the same plan, the workspace owner pays for all of them, and a free user cannot join a workspace at all. That is how per-user tools behave, and it shapes adoption. Everyone who wants into the shared space has to be on the paid plan.

Notepik's plans are per workspace. Each includes a number of seats and a number of meeting hours, and you invite the team up to that seat count. Take the per-user price from Read AI's pricing page, multiply it by the people who need access, and compare it with the Notepik plan that fits your hours on our pricing page.

02

Meetings only, and good at them

Read AI's headline is that it brings context from your email and calendar into every summary and answers questions across meetings, email and messages. That is a useful idea, and it also means connecting more of your data to one assistant.

Notepik asks for less. It reads the meeting you point it at. If you choose to connect a calendar, it reads event details only, and the connection is read-only. It never touches your email or your chat. For teams that want the notes without widening what an AI product can see, the narrow scope is the feature.

03

Every paid plan includes everything

On Read AI's ladder, premium integrations arrive with Pro, audio and video playback and highlights with Enterprise, and HIPAA, SAML SSO and longer meetings with Enterprise+. Moving up a tier is how you get a feature.

Notepik has no feature ladder on its paid plans. Ask, follow-up drafts, integrations, the API, insights, templates and the since-last-time brief are in every one of them. What changes between plans is the number of hours and seats. The free plan leaves a short list out, and the pricing page says which.

04

Decisions, owners, and a memory for recurring meetings

Each write-up lists the decisions that were made and the action items with a suggested owner and a due date, which you can assign, tick off, or push to Slack, Asana, Trello, ClickUp or HubSpot. For a recurring meeting, Notepik shows what the previous one left open and emails you that brief about an hour before the next call, but only when something is open.

Follow-up email drafts are written from the summary and the decisions and never sent for you.

05

A visible bot, a Chrome tab recorder and your language

The Notepik bot is always in the participant list under a name you choose, and the Chrome extension records a browser tab with no bot in the call. Because the extension does not announce itself, it asks you to confirm you will tell the other people first, and the consent page explains what that means in practice. The app itself comes in English, French and Arabic, with the Arabic layout mirrored.

Where Read AI is the better choice

Going by what Read AI's own site says, here is where it is ahead.

Beyond the meeting

Ask Read answers from meetings, email and messages with citations, and its assistant Ada goes after tasks and workflow. If you want one assistant across everything you read and say at work, Notepik is not that. It is a meeting tool.

Apps and in-person capture

Read AI lists apps for Windows, macOS, Android and iPhone, and captures in-person meetings from your phone. Notepik is a web app with a Chrome extension that records browser tabs.

Security and enterprise controls

SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR and HIPAA compliance, SAML SSO and SCIM on its top tier, and no training on your data by default. Notepik has no certifications yet and no SSO.

Integrations, reports and coaching

Salesforce, Jira, Confluence, Notion, Linear, Google Drive and OneNote are on its list, with MCP connections for Claude and ChatGPT. It also offers meeting reports, video playback and highlights, and a speaker coach. Notepik's CRM sync is HubSpot only, and its insights are talk time, questions and one tone reading per meeting.

What it costs: flat versus a licence per person

Read AI has a Free plan, then Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise+, all priced per user per month, with annual billing discounted against monthly. Enterprise tiers need five or more licences, payment is by credit card, and its page says subscriptions can be cancelled before renewal but refunds are not offered. The figures change, so read Read AI's pricing before you decide.

Notepik has a free plan with no card and paid plans priced per workspace, and it refunds a first payment or an upgrade on request within 14 days. The plans below are pulled live from our pricing. Set the one that fits your hours and seats against Read AI's per-user price multiplied by your team.

Read AI vs Notepik: questions people ask

Is Notepik a good Read AI alternative?
For teams that want meetings written up with decisions and owners, a shared library and one workspace price, yes. If you want one assistant that also searches your email and chat, or need SOC 2, HIPAA, SSO and mobile apps, Read AI is the better fit today.
Is Notepik cheaper than Read AI?
That depends on how many people need access. Read AI sells one licence per user and Notepik sells one plan per workspace with a set number of seats and hours. The more people share the same notes, the more a flat price helps. Compare the two pricing pages with your own headcount.
Does Notepik have a free plan like Read AI?
Yes, with no card and no time limit. Its allowance is a monthly number of meeting hours for one person, and the limits are on the pricing page. Read AI's free plan is counted in transcripts and reports instead, so read both before you compare.
Does Notepik read my email or messages?
No. Notepik works from the meetings you point it at. If you connect a calendar, it reads event details only, and the connection is read-only.
Does Notepik work without a bot?
Yes. The Chrome extension records a browser tab with no bot in the call. The bot is optional and is always visible when it is used.
Is Notepik SOC 2 or HIPAA compliant?
No. Read AI states SOC 2 Type 2 and HIPAA compliance, and Notepik has neither. Notepik is encrypted in transit and at rest, isolates each workspace and never trains models on your recordings. The security page has the details.
Can I try Notepik alongside Read AI?
Yes. A free Notepik workspace needs no card, so you can run it on a few calls next to Read AI and compare the write-ups.
